Draft, subject to legal review

whatconnector Acceptable Use Policy

DRAFT. A lawyer qualified in Chile must review this before it goes into production. Text in [BRACKETS] is a placeholder.

Last updated: [DATE]

This Policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to you and to every AI Agent you connect to whatconnector. Anything your AI Agent does is treated as done by you.

1. Intended use

whatconnector is meant for personal or professional use of your own WhatsApp account, at message volumes comparable to a single person's. For example, an AI assistant that summarizes your chats, finds information, drafts replies, or replies in chats you have expressly authorized.

2. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Service, directly or through AI Agents, for:

  1. Spam and mass messaging: unsolicited messages, marketing campaigns, bulk broadcasts, messaging contact lists or numbers that have not written to you before, automated cold outreach, or lead generation.
  2. Harassment: harassing, threatening, intimidating, stalking or doxxing anyone, or sending hateful or discriminatory content.
  3. Fraud and deception: scams, phishing, impersonation, social engineering, unauthorized charges, pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes.
  4. Deceptively hiding that an AI is involved: making someone believe they are talking to a human to gain an unfair advantage, or where the law requires you to disclose the use of AI.
  5. Illegal content: child sexual abuse material (which will be reported to authorities), content that infringes copyrights or trademarks, or content that violates third parties' privacy.
  6. Surveillance: connecting WhatsApp accounts that are not yours or without the account holder's permission, spying on others, or profiling people without a lawful basis.
  7. Unauthorized resale: reselling, sublicensing or sharing access to the Service, or using it to run a messaging service for third parties.
  8. Technical abuse: bypassing usage limits, attacking, overloading or reverse engineering the Service, or using it to distribute malware.
  9. Adult content or content involving minors in inappropriate contexts, or any sexual interaction with minors.
  10. Regulated activities without authorization (gambling, financial services, restricted goods), or any activity that is illegal in Chile or in the recipient's country.

3. Technical limits

To protect your account and the Service, we may apply rate limits (for example, [N] outgoing messages per minute/day and [N] new chats started per day) and block typical spam patterns. These limits do not guarantee that WhatsApp will not ban your account.

4. Your obligations

  • Have a lawful basis or your contacts' consent to process their messages with AI (see the Privacy Policy).
  • Grant write permissions only in chats where it is appropriate, and supervise your agents.
  • Honor requests from people who ask not to receive automated messages.

5. Enforcement

If we detect, or receive reports of, prohibited use, we may do any of the following without refund, depending on severity: warn you, restrict features (for example, disable write access), suspend or close your account, delete content and, where appropriate, notify authorities. Report abuse to [ABUSE EMAIL].
